Students and teachers were shocked early Friday morning at the discovery of a corpse in room 203 at Dunbar. The blood soaked victim, Pedro the Snake, was found in his domicile by students in Mrs. Bacon's advisory class. Investigators at the scene comment, "This is definitely a case of foul play. There's no way that the victim was able to eat out his own eyeballs."
A new resident to the classroom, an unnamed rodent, is the apparent suspect in the homicide. He was found in the reptile's habitat, curled up sleeping. "As he is the only one to be alone with the victim, and he has very sharp incisors, we are confident that we have our man...or mouse."
Reactions to this heinous crime are mixed. Many students will miss the calm presence of our reptile friend. "Rest in Peace, Pedro." says Marcos Mejia. "I loved seeing his bright orange eyes everyday from the back of the room." Others believe that this is a case of self defense, referring to the killing as a "David vs. Goliath" battle. Many are praising this little mouse who could. Deshaun Smith reports, "Man - he really messed him up!"
The suspect, now referred to as Rocky, will be held in the 55 gal. aquarium in room 203, awaiting trial for this crime. A jury of students will be left to decide if Rocky was a little mouse, who defied all odds to beat his natural nemesis, or if in this little mouse beats the heart of a KILLA......
